Open to All Ages, the Special Concert Event to Take Place
Sunday, Dec. 11 at Hard Rock Cafe on the Las Vegas Strip

LAS VEGAS (November 2011) – In what is sure to be a rousing evening of exhilarating entertainment and inspiring fellowship, “BE KIND… Rock Your Heart Out,” a concert event headlined by performing sensation Recycled Percussion, will take place Sunday, Dec. 11 at the Hard Rock Cafe.  Tickets, available at www.ticketweb.com, are $15 per person and will include not only admission to the concert, but also an all-day pass and rental package (worth $45) at Combat Zone Paintball.  Proceeds will benefit the Josh Stevens Foundation, the Southern Nevada-based organization dedicated to inspiring more kids to be more KIND, more often.  The concert is open to guests of all ages and all Southern Nevada families.
“We’re incredibly grateful to the members of Recycled Percussion and all the performers for lending their time and talents to this event,” said Drew Stevens, father of the late Josh Stevens and the foundation’s founder.  “Their show is an absolute phenomenon and we appreciate their genuine enthusiasm for the cause of encouraging more kids to be more kind more often.”
Doors will open at 6 p.m. and opening acts will include Henderson, Nev. singer-songwriter Shelbie Stevens (Josh’s older sister).  Recycled Percussion is scheduled to take the stage at 8 p.m.
“It’s a privilege to help raise awareness of the empowering BE KIND message the Josh Stevens Foundation is spreading around the country,” said Justin Spencer, founder, Recycled Percussion.  “Giving kids this positive message about what they can do to help make their world a better place, rather than constantly telling them what they shouldn’t do, is making a difference. It’s a kindness revolution!”
The Hard Rock Cafe is located at 3771 Las Vegas Boulevard South and Combat Paintball Zone is located at 13011 South Las Vegas Boulevard.
ABOUT THE JOSH STEVENS FOUNDATION
Founded in 2008, the Josh Stevens Foundation’s mission is to recognize and reward a child’s heartfelt KIND act and to inspire kids to be more KIND, more often.  Genuine KINDNESS born in the heart of a child deserves celebration.  One month before Josh’s 13th birthday, he lost his life in a tragic accident in September 2008.  Amongst his friends, family and community, he was known as a person who was KIND and often did good deeds for others.  He left a legacy of KINDNESS that lives on today through the work of the foundation.  To date, nearly 25,000 KINDNESS cards and more than 65,000 “Be Kind” t-shirts with various slogans have been printed and distributed.  Billboards in Southern Nevada and Oregon are now up touting the organization’s message.  Everything the foundation does honors Josh: on the 5th of every month, for Josh’s birthday, the foundation does random acts of KINDNESS.  Examples include surprising needy families by helping pay for layaway gifts, donating money to feed children in Haiti, supporting grieving families and much more.  The logo, itself, is a recreation of actual drawings from Josh; the three mountains represented Josh and his siblings, Shelbie and Sam, who Josh named.  The sun, to Josh, signified his parents protecting the kids with the 12 points on the sun symbolizing Josh’s age.  For more information, go to www.JoshStevensFoundation.org or find on Facebook or Twitter.
ABOUT RECYCLED PERCUSSION
Recycled Percussion formed in 1994 in New Hampshire at its members’ high school talent show, where its first performance gave birth to the style of music now known as JUNK ROCK. During every show, the band mixes their gritty assault on buckets, power tools or anything else they can get their sticks on with a sense of humor and gravity defying athleticism.  Spencer, who has been named the world’s fastest drummer, along with fellow drummer Ryan Vezina, guitarist Matt Bowman and DJ Todd Griffin started to tour the world as Recycled Percussion in 2001 and have averaged over 250 shows a year since.  The band was introduced in living rooms across the country on the hit television show “America’s Got Talent” on NBC. The group has appeared on the cover of “USA TODAY” and has performed on the “Today Show,” “Carson Daly,” “Talk Soup,” “Crook and Chase” and recently played their biggest show ever by performing on “China’s Got Talent.”  The band has also performed at the 2010 Latin Grammy’s, World MMA Awards, NBA and NFL halftime shows, convention general session openers, corporate events, college performances and more.  Recycled Percussion performs nightly at the Tropicana Las Vegas at 7 p.m. (dark Wednesdays).  For more information, go to www.recycledpercussionband.com.
